Music classes on
Arranmore Island

With huge thanks to the Cuisle/Scéim Neartú scheme from Ealaín na Gaeltachta, we are delighted to run weekly traditional Irish music classes for young people on Arranmore. We also support weekly music classes for adults, thanks to the wonderful teaching of our own Anne Conaghan.

Classes are open to all levels, from beginners to improvers, and take place every Tuesday evening in the community centre at CFFAM.

We offer instrument rental and tuition across a wide range of instruments, including tin whistle, accordion, concertina, guitar, flute, fiddle, banjo, piano and bodhrán.

Throughout the year, we also run workshops on specific instruments depending on demand from our local learning musicians. To date, we have held workshops on concertina, guitar, bodhrán and accordion.

All members of our music learning group can access these workshops, along with many other events, free of charge.

Performance is also an important part of the learning experience, and students are invited and encouraged to take part in informal sessions as well as more formal recitals and concerts throughout the year.
